The Auckland Memory Clinic
Five years of research into age-related memory loss in healthy adults from 20 years to 100 years of age resulted in isolating the particular types of memory vital to continuing memory confidence, productivity, and independence into old age. The Memory Clinic was established to ensure access to treatment of memory loss at its earliest stages by means of scientifially-based programmes individually tailored for each client.
The Auckland Memory Clinic offers a full memory testing service. This is followed by treatment for the remediation of the difficulties caused by increasingly frequent memory lapses, as well as the skills to develop brain resilience to form a buffer against further memory loss. This may be undertaking individually or within a group setting at of the the Brain Fit For Life workshops.
Dr. Lamont's Research
Allison’s ground-breaking research into memory in older, healthy adults has excited interest in many parts of the world because of the focus she gave to the precise memory skills needed for independent living into old age. Concerned that most adults start to notice changes in the memory by the late 40s, Dr. Lamont has developed programmes to protect the brain against age-related memory loss, boost brain power, sharpen everyday memory, and to promote a healthy, independent lifestyle.
